Oasis

4.5/5 (4.6k)  IMDb TV-MA HD

Set in the near future, Oasis tells the story of priest Peter Leigh, who is called to a remote planet where a mysterious multinational company, USIC, is building the first permanent off-Earth human colony. The planet, Oasis, is humanity’s last chance to escape from Earth’s impending collapse. We meet Peter in a dark place - having just lost his wife, Bea, to cancer. When he receives a mysterious message from David Morgan, USIC’s quixotic billionaire founder, Peter is intrigued. Why David Morgan is so keen for Peter’s services as a priest remains unclear, but the offer - combined with his memories of Bea’s dying words to him - convinces Peter to take the journey. When Peter arrives on Oasis, he is dismayed to find that David Morgan has vanished under mysterious circumstances. Then he discovers that there is no one of any religious faith in the colony, leading him to wonder why he was invited there. Convinced that there must be something more to his invitation, Peter begins to investigate Morgan’s disappearance - bringing him into closer contact and conflict with Sara Keller, Head of Security, and Executive Officer, Vikram Danesh. Keller’s tough exterior hides a deeper and problematic history. Although her love for the rules places her at odds with the more free-thinking Peter, the two are drawn together by their suspicions around the true purpose of Oasis. They find no such connection with Danesh, a pragmatist and a ruthless leader of men, who sees Peter as one of David Morgan’s expensive and pointless indulgences. The longer Peter remains on Oasis the more he begins to understand that the disappearance of David Morgan may not be the only strange thing that has happened since humans settled on the planet, and as he uncovers more of its secrets we may begin to wonder if humans are welcome at all…
