With flamboyant David Lee Roth as its front man and Eddie Van Halen as its guitar icon, Van Halen was one of the most visible hard-rock bands of the 1970s and '80s. This retrospective documentary takes viewers back to the group's beginnings, charting its rise from backyard beer-bash performances to stadium shows through footage of the boys and interviews with Van Halen, Roth, friends, fans and musical colleagues.
