Gene Autry and the Cass County Boys are unjustly arrested as bank bandits. Released by police as decoys to locate the loot, Gene and the boys find themselves in trouble with the real bank robbers.

Gene Autry's investigation of the murder of his partner, leads him to Mexico, where he becomes involved with the beautiful singer whose father has also been killed, and finds a jewelry smuggling ring.

Gene Autry goes to the home of hypochondriac landowner, who gets Gene to switch identities while he takes a vacation, giving Gene power-of-attorney. Gene has to raise $50,000 to save the properties.
