Young Tom Long is sent to stay at the house of an Aunt and Uncle while his brother is ill. All seems drearily disciplined until the downstairs grandfather clock strikes 13, and Tom discovers a secret garden of enormous size, full of surprises and adventure.

Micky Mason, is a skilled manual worker who, since the financial crash, can find nothing but menial zero hours jobs. He takes a course of action that is completely out of character, but it's the only way he can see of keeping his family together.
