Ernest Butcher

1937. The council whom Bill works for are turning to motor transport to replace the horse and cart. Bill, unable to accept the change, buys his horse and sets off to seek work in the country. He encounters many folk that he helps along the way.

1944. Gert and Daisy attempt to retrieve an old dress containing a fortune. They have to impersonate two thespians, and bring all sorts of trouble to a stage-play.
