As the names of Chang Cheh and Liu Chia-liang became legendary, all-too-often the name of their equally valued collaborator, Tang Chia, is omitted.

The Sentimental Swordsman epitomizes the lone, virtuous, heroic swordsman with a twist. The Oedipus complexed swordsman played by the popular Ti Lung, is a hero with weaknesses; he drinks, thereby losing his girlfriend via tricked honor. It's finally payback time.

Wu Sung, a master swordsman, is sent into exile after being accused of murdering his sister-in-law and her partner, and battles thieves in a prison camp.

"The Kung-fu Instructor" is martial arts film director Sun Chung's loose homage to Akira Kurosawa's "Yojimbo" where unlike Toshiro Mifune's "Sanjuro" character being a snarling, bastard, drunk swordsman looking for a drink, popular actor Ti Lung's Huang Yang role, is an upright, righteous, weapon instructor looking to keep his limbs. Huang is a famous martial artist trapped into teaching kung-fu to the wrong clan while the opposing "good" clan tries to save him so he can instruct their members. Besides kung-fu comedienne Wang Yu starring in one of his few serious roles, Sun became the first Shaw Brothers’ director to use a Steadicam which gives the film's action and editing style a unique brand of tension and rhythm. The pole fights are also out of this world.

Ti Lung plays a Vietnam vet who's now an 'honourable' mercenary-for-hire taking on an assignment tracking down an assassin who's fled to Cambodia after murdering an industrialist from Hong Kong. He recruits a team for the task which consists of who's who of the Shaw Brother's action stars (Lo Lieh, Johnny Wang Lung Wei, Wong Yue, Chan Wei Man and comedy relief Nat Chan).

The headless corpse of the Chao Clan patriarch and the theft of a jade tiger set in motion another noteworthy collaboration between three of the biggest names in swordplay action dramas: director Chor Yuen, martial arts novelist Gu Long, and kung-fu superstar Ti Lung - the same trio who created The Magic Blade and Clans Of Intrigue.

The titanic team of director Chu Yuan and novelist Ku Lung wisely chose to give their hero a whole new, non-stop, cliffhanger-fraught adventure featuring a mystery swordsman, a sensual swordswoman, an imperial assassin, a Ghost Mansion, the Bat Island, a booby-trapped tunnel, double crosses, and secret missions.

In order to restore order to China, who has been under the rule of the tyrannical Emperor Ching for 50 years, a rebellious brotherhood makes it their mission to disturb the throne.

The Ching Emperor fears the martial artists from the Shao Lin Monastery, and so he gives orders to burn it down. Most of the inmates who resisted the Manchus are either killed or dispersed. The lucky ones, who escape included Hung Hsi-kuan, in addition to five men, who flee to Central China. They are Tsai Te-chung (Ti Lung), Ma Chao-hsing (Alexander Fu Sheng), Fang Ta-hung (Meng Fei), Li Shih-kai (Chi Kuan-chun), and Hu Te-ti (David Chiang). These five heroes try to join forces with the other anti-Ching elements in Central China. Among the Shao Lin men is Ma Fu-yi, a traitor, who in league with the Manchu henchman, Chen Wen-yao (Chiang Tao), plots to destroy the Shao Lin heroes once and for all. Ma Chao-hsing is captured by the traitor, but he refuses to reveal anything. Meanwhile, Hu Te-ti, with the help of Chieftain Kao, and the chieftain's followers, rush to the rescue of Ma Chao-hsing. A fierce battle ensues, and Ma is freed, but the brave chieftain dies. The anti-Ching patriots begin to realize that in order to lick the Manchu lackeys, led by Chen Wen-yao, Pao Yu-lung, and others, they must improve their kung fu skill, because their opponents are also experts in martial arts. Then the patriots return to the gutted monastery, where they spend more than a year perfecting still more kung fu techniques, such as the 'Crossed Fists', 'Triple-Jointed Stick', 'Rolling Technique', 'Tiger Stork Technique', and 'Pole Technique'. The decisive battle is fought, resulting in the complete routing of the Manchu gangsters. But Fang and Li also die martyrs to liberty. The anti-Ching forces are further reinforced by the arrival of fresh troops from Admiral Cheng Cheng-kung of Taiwan. More bitter struggles against the Manchu tyrants follow...

In 1933, seven Chinese soldiers fight valiantly during the Sino-Japanese war.

This prime example of director/co-writer Chang Cheh's mastery takes place right after the Korean War, as a kung-fu master, combat instructor, explosives expert, and missile specialist heroically represent the Book of Revelation's four riders against murder, corruption, jealousy, and greed.

Duel Of Fist was another hit from the "iron triangle" of director Chang Cheh and stars David Chiang and Ti Lung. And, as with all the director's classics, one good hit deserves another, so this sequel was called for. When last we left our heroes, they had triumphed against evil in Thailand. But a vengeful Japanese gangster has their mother killed and one of their girlfriends kidnapped.
