The film is a political satire that would talk about how people from all castes can become archakas in temples. If that sounded like the stance was going to be a progressive one, it was only half the description and is already quite obvious that the film attacks caste-based reservation in education and jobs.

Follows two brothers, one a criminal and the other an ordinary person, as they become closer after their mother's unexpected death, and the younger one tries to bring out the elder on Parole to perform the mother's last rites.

A City based thriller that travels on the Hyperlink plot connecting the four youngsters from the different walks of lives. Maanagaram will focalize upon Chennai city as one of the major characters in this film, where the backdrops would indeed become a prominent ingredient of this tale.
