In Ming Dynasty China, an Emperor (Chang Chen) and a princess (Faye Wong), both desperate for the life of a free-spirited wanderer, attempt to escape from the royal palace. The princess, disguised as a man, finds herself attracting the attention of a boorish restaurant owner (Tony Leung Chiu Wai), precipitating much gender- and genre-bending mayhem.

In this hysterical, eye-popping comedy, a team of misfits take their best shot at winning a championship by mixing martial arts with soccer. Using unorthodox game play, they face the dreaded Team Evil in the ultimate battle for the title.
