Manga artist Rohan Kishibe visits a church in Venice and hears a masked man confess that he accidentally killed a vagrant and was cast a curse that brings him despair when he is most happy. Rohan becomes engrossed in this mysterious confession and uses his special ability to turn people into books and read their memories and experiences… Eventually, he finds that he is under the same curse.
