In 1527 Rome, a nobleman exiled for murder returns to defend the city, clear his name, and reunite with the woman he loves from a rival family.

A distinguished American architect is invited to Rome with his young, attractive wife to set up an architecture exhibit. His health issues and obsession with work weigh heavily on his wife, who finds amusement and affection with a young Italian, until the ultimately both the architect's marriage and his life collapse.

In order to placate the angry gods and attempt to save Thessaly, King Jason and his Argonauts set out to search for the fabled Golden Fleece.
