Lumi Pollack

As a young child, Autumn befriends a jaguar cub named Hope in the Amazon rainforest. After moving to New York City, she learns at age 14 that her village is threatened by animal traffickers. Determined to save Hope, she returns to the rainforest with her clumsy biology teacher Anja to protect the wildlife and their home.

Vada navigates the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy. Relationships with her family and friends, as well as her view of the world, are forever altered.
