Sunset has two problems. Rustlers and the disertion of the Kid he helped make a Ranger. The rustlers reside in an area not as yet part of the state and out of the Rangers' jurisdiction.

The cowboy hero plans a benefit prizefight to raise money for a new school, only to find his partner Sam Webster trying to make off with the proceeds.
