In 1943, a group of Croatian soldiers overtake a strategically important point in western Bosnia with a goal to destroy a band of communist partisans.

One morning, after a routine mine laying campaign, Ilija learns his younger brother Goran was killed far beyond enemy lines. As Ilija investigates what happened to his brother, begins to expose a network of corruption involving not only the military, but also high-ranking officials.
