Claude Dampier

1935. British musical comedy film directed by Leslie S. Hiscott and starring Jack Hylton, June Clyde and Claude Dampier. Hylton plays himself in a story built around a millionaire shipowner who hires a band (led by Hylton) to publicise his ships.

Narkover’ School is perhaps more famous for its forgers than its academic prowess. Dr Alex Smart covets the post of headmaster through enlisting the help of Brown, an ex-pupil, with a good record in forgery! Smart is then forced in return to employ Brown so that he can prepare for a theft he will undertake when a rich founder, Lady Dorking, visits the school wearing a priceless necklace. Inevitably all does not go according to plan and what results causes much hilarity and confusion! Starring Will Hay and Gordon Harker.
