Originally coined by feminist film theorist Laura Mulvey, the term "male gaze" articulates the way in which women have been filmed as objects to be looked at on screen by male characters, for an assumed male audience by often-male filmmakers.

Jared Martin plays an aspiring film maker obsessed with the idea of Christ as a woman, and tries to film his vision with Sondra Locke as his subject. Supposedly based on a song by Leonard Cohen (used in the film).
