German director Malte Wirtz's latest independent production, THE THIRD GUEST, transports viewers into a suspenseful atmosphere that mixes classic horror with subtle parody elements. The young couple Eva and Arthur, played by Merle Peters-Moorhouse and Tim-Fabian Hoffmann, decide to escape the stress of everyday life and book a weekend in a run-down hostel.

A group of three young people go into the forest, having heard that there is a stone altar, they search until late at night and suddenly a young woman disappears from the group. The two men stay in the forest but can't find her. Initially, Malte Wirtz had wanted to shoot a romantic comedy in Cologne's Königsforst.
