Three young women aged between 18 and 20 are hospitalised with cancer. The women share their problems while spending the holidays in a hospital cancer ward.

Three girls look back on a decisive moments in their lives. One, a swimmer, was deprived of her only real chance of happiness. Another left her deeply religious family, and the last brutally rejected her boyfriend in fear of being rejected herself.

Dirch was second-to-none on the Danish scene, in revue theatre and on film. He was in the league of Dean Martin, Lenny Bruce, Andy Kaufman. But he was also blinded by his own success, and he let down his family, his children, his best friend and not least himself in his efforts to be seen, understood and loved.
