Originally intended to be Raúl Ruiz’s debut feature in 1967, this experimental drama was posthumously revived by Valeria Sarmiento through editing and dialogue reconstruction. The melancholic and the grotesque become strange bedfellows, as a haunted widower sinks into a whirlpool of hallucinations.

Despite dying in 2011, Raúl Ruiz continues to make cinematic mischief. This comic and surreal pastiche of telenovelas was made during a fertile workshop Ruiz ran in 1990. Finished and restored by his wife and editor, Valeria Sarmiento, TV melodrama collides Ruiz’s fabulism and the era of Twin Peaks.
