When travelling salesman Greg Newman hails a taxi at the airport, he has no idea that he is about to take the ride of his life. Everything is normal until the cab driver, Sammy, hits a young woman on the street. The ride takes a turn as, after the injured Billie and her companion Casper are invited into the taxi for a lift to the hospital, they carjack the cab, taking Sammy and Greg hostage.

It's a case of mistaken ethnicity, where two non-Italians pretend to be Italian to win each others hearts in Boston's North End.
