Tony Petrocelli, a bright young lawyer practising in the rich cattle town of Baker, becomes embroiled in a murder case in which a doctor is accused of killing his wife.

A man, facing torture and possibly death for his Christian beliefs, confesses his fears to Peter, who awaits a similar fate. Peter conveys events of Christ's crucifixion, resurrection and ascension.
