Sharda and Ranjeet are happily married and have a son together. Ranjeet, however, has an affair with his secretary Nirmala, who he has convinced that his wife is on her deathbed.

Sentenced to death, Kailash asks his wife, Seema to take their daughter and relocate elsewhere. Moving to Bombay, she remarries and is content with her new life. Meanwhile, Kailash's sentence is changed and he comes to Bombay to look for his family.
